Gavin’s Birthday 18/04/08 – 36!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to you………………. We let Gavin have a lay in until 9.30 and then woke him up to Happy Birthday and Tehya’s present and all of his cards (he opened his gift from Becca the day before because he wanted to swim – but was still sunburned from 3 days before!!!!). We had a lazy breakfast and then trekked to Coral Bay. It was very hot and humid and the half hour trek took much more like an hour and ten. We had to carry Tehya most of the way as it was so warm and the trekking was quite rugged and the path was not always that easy to find but it was good fun and we enjoyed it much more than we did the trek in Thailand for my birthday (remember that Gavin)!!!! We stopped at a place called Senja and had a lovely birthday lunch. The food was very good, we all had ice shakes to celebrate – Gavin and I had Coconut and Tehya had Mango.

They have Internet access there so we decided at some point we will go back and use it to update the blog. We walked the rest of the bay looking at the restaurants and places to stay. It was a strange experience – we so remember the island as our remote hideaway from 7 years before. Coral Bay was more like you would expect a resort to be. We left for our journey back (by boat – 5 RM each for me and Gavin) deciding that we would go to D’ Lagoon the following day to take a trip down memory lane. We spoke to Mira that night and they texted D’ Lagoon with a request to reserve a room for us. We are pleased with Mira but we have this irking feeling that we are missing something or that something is not right. We have to satisfy ourselves that we have come to the right place…… I think that we have expectations from our last trip and we are not sure how to balance how we feel now coming back 7 years on!!!!
