The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 is one of the best purchases we have ever made. The Lumix TZ5 is so easy to use Tehya even manages to take great pictures. The buttons and options are really made for beginners and the settings are very clear and understandable. One of my favourite features of the camera has to be the E.Zoom (super digital zoom) button by the shot button. As soon as you press the button the camera goes straight to a 10x optical zoom without having to touch the manual control. The e.zoom button allows you to capture something in the distance with super speed. Press the button again and it will go to a 17x digital zoom taking these shots at 3mp. The built in anti shake / stability on the camera comes in very handy while using the zoom feature especially after a few Bintangs.

The 9 mega pixels along with the Auto ‘ISO’ sensitivity option produces digital images which give many SLRs a run for their money. The Panasonic Lumix has been the perfect camera while we’ve been away travelling. The 3″ LCD crystal clear screen is amazingly vibrant and plays back images and video clips in unbelievable detail.

We purchased two batteries for the camera and we generally get around 300 shots on one charge the camera is truly flawless for a compact – it simply does everything we want for under £200.

We’ve also updated the firmware of the Lumix to v1.2 and that fixed an issue with the auto focus click here to go to the Panasonic site for more information.

  1. I have the Panasonic TZ5 camera too, I bought it 5 months ago just before I left for Thailand. If I see something I would like to paint it takes a great photo, which I paint directly from the display. The best camera I have ever had.
    Best regards, Jan Peys/Chiang Mai
