Balian - saying goodbye to Taylor!!!
We had a difficult time last week!! Tehya’s dear friend Taylor went back to Australia and it was very very sad. Robyn, Mark and Taylor came to visit with us in Balian and we had a lovely time - Mr Oble indulged us with a night of Arak which resulted in hilarious conversation!! The two little girls had a night of movies and friendship. Unfortunately on their second (last) night in Balian Tehya started to develop a fever which kept Gavin and I up most of the nigh trying to keep her cool. We said good-bye to our friends which was very hard, especially for Tehya as she felt a real love for Taylor. We all felt quite sad to be saying farewell.
That night Tehya got even more poorly – her fever was running at an average of 38.7 and she started to get terrible pains in her tummy. We checked online with NHS direct to make sure we were headed in the right direction with looking after her - and the next day we drove to Kuta to stay in an air-con room to help keep her cool and to get hold of pediatric fluid replacement drinks!!! Our previous experiences of this kind of illness with Tehya indicated it can take several trials before we find one she will drink happily!!!! They do taste pretty yucky!!!!
It also gave us another chance to say good-bye to our friends as they were waiting in Kuta for their flight back to Australia. We had dinner with them and the girls got to play together for a little longer!!!
We spent two nights back at the Hotel Lusa and Tehya’s recovery was quick and within 24 hours she was back to her cheeky self. She has grown so much in the last month that very few of her clothes fitted her any more so we decided to hit a kids department at a local store and bought her a hole new wardrobe to cheer her up. The clothes were a really good price (very cheap) and all brand names - Tehya loved it!!! When we got back to Balian that night she did a fashion show on Skype for her auntie Becca!!!
