Off To The Gili Islands
We have decided to go and visit the Gili Islands just across from Lombok and will be out of contact until the 11th October a few days before we leave the wonderful shores of Bali.

Our Macbook Has Fried Another Harddisk
Yet again our only form of communication has decided to die. The Macbook 2.16GHz Mid 2007 Model has killed yet again another Harddrive. I have seen many similar stories on the net about 2 or 3 harddisk having to be replaced in macbooks.
Thankfully after years of seeing customers lose all their valuable information I have [...]
Ubud and The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary - Mandala Wista Wenara Wana
The drive to Ubud was hard, we were already tired from driving around the Amed coast and our inland search for tourist sights that morning. We are becoming used to our decision making processes though. We tend to make last minute decisions about most things. The process tends to go: research, chat, more research, decision [...]

It is surprising how tired and worn you can feel after a few days of travel, when we woke the following day we certainly felt the effects from our adventures. We had gone to bed quite late the previous evening as Tehya and George’s daughter were having so much fun (Iona has a fine collection [...]

Getting ready!!
Two days before Becca left Bali Gavin started to get itchy feet and hired a moped for five days. We have been curious to check out the east coast of Bali for some time now - it is the only part of the coast we have not been too. So we started to plan [...]
Aunty Becca - Tears at the airport
It was awful…. as the last few days drifted by we all felt an impending doom and sadness at the prospect of Becca leaving and flying home. The hardest part of being away from home has always been missing the people we love the most. Saying goodbye is never easy… but this had a very [...]

As we had made our way to Lovina via the Pupuan road, we decided the return journey to Kuta should take us around Mount Tapak and through the three great lakes Tamblingan, Buyan and Beratan. The winding road up from Singaraja to the first lake brought many laughs and gasps of wonder at the ever [...]

We booked into the Rini hotel for two nights as we had little planned except to relax more and visit with Ayu and and her children at Apple Warung. After our early night and some much needed sleep we were all feeling a little better - although Becca’s throat was still incredibly sore…. we all [...]

We left Kuta in high spirits with a very full car!!! It is hard enough to fit two adults and one child with all their luggage into a Suzuki Jimmy - let alone three adults, a child and all their luggage! With Gavin’s genius packing we managed and you could even say that we had [...]

Becca arrived from England on the 21st of August - we met her from Denpasar airport full of excitement and eager anticipation. Gavin had been tracking her flight from Heathrow via Singapore to Denpasar and was full of anxiety. As we waited for her to come through from the arrivals lounge he kept pacing the [...]
