Aunty Becca visits Bali
Becca arrived from England on the 21st of August - we met her from Denpasar airport full of excitement and eager anticipation. Gavin had been tracking her flight from Heathrow via Singapore to Denpasar and was full of anxiety. As we waited for her to come through from the arrivals lounge he kept pacing the airport trying to see her through the windows. Poor Tehya just kept saying ‘is she here yet’ and ‘we have been waiting for years and years…..’. Becca finally appeared to be met with mountains of hugs and a very pleased family…. as she had arrived safely!!!! We took her back to Hotel Lusa and booked her into the room next to ours. We spent the next week idling by the swimming pool…. with Tehya showing of her many diving and swimming skills or chatting over the balcony wall with Tehya running back and forth between the two rooms.
In the eight days we spent in Kuta we did little except relax, chat, shop, eat nice food and drink beer. The sun shone everyday, although it was often been a little overcast in the mornings on the whole it was a perfect week weather wise and we have all had a really lovely time.
The only thing we did that was mildly taxing was to re visit Waterbom this time with Becca - as we had promised Tehya that we would have another (small) birthday celebration for her once Becca arrived!! It was a totally cool day!!! Gavin and Becca were dare devils and went on some of the fastest drop rides at the water park.
Of course sibling rivalry did not take long to kick in and they had several races too!!! Which was very funny and thoroughly enjoyed by Tehya and I. After eight days we decided that we should hire a car and take Becca on a trip to see a couple of our favorite places and to meet some of the good friends we have made. So we packed ourselves and lots of our baggage into a little black Jimmy and headed off to Balian. see more images here
