I can remember haggling one officer down from (can't remember exhange rates - sorry!) from about £50 to £2.50. He was laughing the whole time as we played out the theatre of it: Oh, sir you have a front wheel over the white line. You must go to court in three months. Me: I leave next week, maybe I can give the fine to you officer, and you pay the court for me? Very funny! Anyway interested to read your blog as I live in Cornwall and have made a few incursion to SE Asia. most recently was sailing up the Malaka Straights on board Jos from the Phoenix pub at Watergate's traditional Indonesian pinisis.
