Kuala Lumpur Day Two….
Day two….
We woke up to a bright and sunny morning, after a breakfast of muesli, yogurt and brown bread (such a great breakfast and not one you get often in Asia) we headed off to explore the KL Tower. It cost us a total of 50 MR which is about £8.00 to take two adults and one child to the top – Tehya also got given a free pair of kids binoculars which she was very pleased with. We spent about an hour at the top, taking photos and trying to spot our hotel and other familiar parts of the city – it was a nice way to spend the morning and we left in search of an indoor amusement park we had been told about by the hotel staff.
[singlepic id="426" w="160" h="120" mode="" float="right" ]Time Square is a huge twin tower block building – it looks rather foreboding and ugly from the outside, it reminded me of an old factory building that you might have found in the north of England at the turn of the century. There is a monorail stop right out side which makes it really convenient to access and inside there is a huge shopping mall – 10 stories to be exact, packed with some of the best names in expensive fashion and jewellery. Within this huge building there is also what is advertised as the largest indoor amusement park in Malaysia. As we had decided to make it a Tehya afternoon we got tickets and went into check it out. It cost us £20 in total – it is usually open from midday until 10.00pm. We arrived at about 3.00pm and stayed until about 5.30pm. It was hard work to be honest – the adult amusement part of the park
looked good fun and it appeared to have a good mix of different rides. Tehya of course was too small to be allowed on any, so we headed for the childrens part. It was a bit of a let down…. Tehya seemed to enjoy herself but it was very quiet with few other children there, as we were on our own it meant that Tehya often had to go on rides on her own (we could only go on a few rides with her – height restrictions).
We left to get the monorail back to our hotel and to revisit the restaurant we had eaten at the night before. It was a great experience again second time around – we got wet again this time too but not as much so we were not quite as cold. The rains are definitely pouring each evening – the sky’s open at about 3.30pm and it is torrential for about four hours.
The plans for tomorrow are to buy our tickets north to Penang.
