Tehya was really upset on the day we arrived – as we sat at the train station waiting for Jon to collect us all she kept saying was ‘where is he – when is Jon coming?’

We gave up waiting and Gavin arranged for a local bemo style taxi to take us to the only hotel we knew the name of. My Way 108 is a really nice and very cheap Chinese Thai owned hotel, it is just round the corner from where Jon lives and when we arrived they immediately remembered Tehya from our previous visit. As My Way is the hotel we bought the swimming pool membership from last time we were here and we swam there everyday for three weeks.

We booked into the cheapest room that they had and the three of us dosed and watched TV until about 1.00pm and then we got up and went in search of an ATM and food (we were so hungry as we had had no breakfast). We had arrived in Thailand with about 350 Baht about £6. So we had enough for the taxi we needed, a few bottles of water, a juice for Tehya and coffee for Gavin and I.

Jon finally called about 3.00pm that afternoon to say he had missed our calls and was currently at work (not still in Laos as we had been worrying he might be). He arranged to collect us from the hotel that night and take us for dinner. We all went out and had a really nice meal at Oy’s a local restaurant that Jon goes to regularly and then back to the hotel to sit around the pool in the dark and drink some cold Thai beers. It was a really nice evening and only ended at 11.30 when I took an exhausted but very happy Tehya to bed and left the guys to catch up over more beer.

The rest of our visit with Jon was lovely – Tehya adores him and for her it was total pleasure over load. He spoils her rotten and every time we go near a shop she just has to mention the word toy or ice cream and he immediately goes and buys her what ever she wants. It is not often that Tehya gets so spoilt so we let him indulge her and sit back and smile.

We leave tomorrow to go and meet Becca and Oonagh from Bangkok airport – we are all very excited. They arrive two days apart so we have booked two rooms in a cheap hotel online and leave early by bus to go and book in and wait for the first one to arrive – Becca!!
