The first PC system (other than the ZX80/ZX81) I ever set my eyes on was called a pet pc in 1980 and was a massive 1MHZ on the 8032 chipset. Thankfully computer systems have come along way since then.
The first PC’s I worked on in 1992 where called 286 systems and the operating system was DOS 4.1 or windows v3 and they cost around £1700.

Windows 3.11 was the first proper windows operating system I can just about remember but I still preferred to use DOS as it didn’t crash. Networking was a little bit of a nightmare back in the day but not many people could afford more than one PC.
