About RSPB Marazion Marsh

Marazion Marsh is an RSPB nature reserve just inland from Marazion beach, looking across to St Michael's Mount, and holds Cornwall's largest reedbed. More than 250 species of bird have been recorded here, along with hundreds of plants and insects. It is an important wintering site for bitterns and a regular stopover for the rare aquatic warbler on migration. From October to December starlings gather to roost in the reeds, and their evening displays draw birds of prey such as buzzards and sparrowhawks. Visitors watch from the viewing area and public footpaths, so bring binoculars and a flask. The RSPB does not run a car park here, but there are privately run pay car parks within 100 metres. There are no toilets on the reserve, the nearest being at the Marazion station car park. Dogs must stay on a lead and on public footpaths. It suits birdwatchers and anyone visiting Marazion or the Mount.
