About First and Last Trail

The First and Last Trail is a 25 mile cycle route through the far west of Cornwall, running from Land's End to Hayle and named for Land's End's place as the first and last point of mainland England. From Land's End the first section to the top of Sennen Cove is off road and fairly level, followed by a steep road descent into Sennen. The route then follows quiet lanes east through Lamorna and Mousehole, runs level along the shore through Newlyn and Penzance, and follows the coast path off road to Marazion. From Marazion it continues on relatively level minor roads along sheltered river valleys to Hayle on the north coast. Much of the trail is hilly and shared with vehicles and pedestrians, so it suits confident cyclists, though the flat Penzance to Marazion section along Mount's Bay is easy for families. It can be ridden in sections and links with St Michael's Mount and the West Cornwall villages.
