The Bank Tapas & Grill

The Bank at Bude is a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant at Pethericks Mill on the edge of Bude, beside the River Neet and the marshes. The kitchen lists more than thirty tapas dishes, among them patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, jamon serrano, mejillones, paella, chorizo al vino tinto, padron peppers, albondigas and calamares, with traditional sangria, cocktails and old fashioneds at the bar. It opens on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 11pm and from midday to 11.30pm Thursday to Saturday, and is closed on Sunday and Monday. A bottomless brunch runs Thursday to Saturday. Outside there are five riverside dining pods looking over the marsh, some of them private, which can be reserved. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar and the outdoor areas, with dog treats and dog ice cream on offer. There is free off street parking, and the restaurant runs a loyalty club and sells gift vouchers. Tables and pods are booked online or by phone. It suits groups wanting to share plates, couples after something other than pub food, and anyone who wants to sit by the river with sangria on a summer evening.
