Callington has two regular markets, both based around the Town Hall on New Road. Callington Market is a monthly event in the Pannier Market, the covered market owned by Callington Town Council behind the Town Hall, with its entrance off Fore Street between the tyre depot and the Spar. It is held on the first Sunday of the month from 10am to 2pm and stalls have included fresh vegetables, locally produced meat, cakes, homeware, artwork, organic alcohol and gifts; traders book through the council on the number on this listing or [email protected]. Callington Country Market is a separate weekly producers' market held every Wednesday from 8.45am to 12 noon at the Scout Headquarters on New Road car park, opposite the Co-op. It sells preserves and chutneys, honey, juices and cordials, organic produce and jewellery, with a fish van calling between 8.30am and 9.30am, artwork and picture framing by its artist in residence Anthea Lay, and a tea table serving hot drinks, biscuits and toast; produce can be ordered a week ahead. Parking at the Pannier Market is limited to 30 minutes for customers, with longer free parking at Saltash Road Recreation Ground and pay and display car parks on New Road. Toilets are in the Town Hall. It suits anyone in east Cornwall wanting local food in a quiet market town.
