Enterprise Boats run the scenic passenger boat service up the River Fal from Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth to Trelissick and Malpas, near Truro. The trip cruises up the Carrick Roads and along the river, and the run from Falmouth to Malpas takes a little over an hour. Trelissick, a National Trust house and garden, has its own landing, though the entrance is about 600 metres up a zig zag path. From Malpas, the 496 bus links to Truro. In 2026 the boats run from April to October, Monday to Saturday, with Sunday sailings from 25 May to 6 September, and an autumn timetable later in the season. On selected dates there are also special high tide cruises all the way to Truro, leaving Falmouth at 4pm and returning about three hours later. All sailings are subject to tide, weather and circumstances. The boats are dog friendly, bikes are welcome and contactless payment is accepted. Boarding steps can be slippery when wet. A Fal Mussel Card allows hop on, hop off travel around the river.
