About Falmouth Art Gallery

Falmouth Art Gallery is a free public gallery run by Falmouth Town Council in the Municipal Buildings on The Moor, in the centre of Falmouth. Its collection reflects the town's cultural heritage and includes paintings such as Mary Winifred Freeman's The Shop on the Quay (1889), the RCPS Tuke Collection on long term loan, works by Surrealist artists linked to Cornwall and pieces from Falmouth's automata heritage. Displays from the collection run alongside changing exhibitions; the Artist Takeover, featuring five Cornwall based artists and collectives, runs from 2 October 2026 to 9 February 2027. Rooms can close briefly while exhibitions change over. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and is closed on Sundays and bank holidays. There is a lift to the right of the building, accessible toilets, baby changing, a doodle table for children and a shop, but no cafe on site. Short stay pay and display parking is on The Moor, with long stay parking at Quarry Hill, and buses stop on The Moor. Workshops, talks and family events run through the year, and only assistance dogs are allowed inside.
