A day at Portholland
Both beaches shelve gently into the water and are sheltered from the prevailing south westerlies by the headland. The coast path passes through the hamlet, linking Gorran Haven and Mevagissey, and the short walk east towards Penare offers big views back over the beaches.
Practical notes
Parking is a small car park beside the beach and it fills quickly in summer. There are no lifeguards, so check the tide and sea conditions before swimming, and keep dogs under control where seasonal restrictions apply. Facilities are limited, so bring what you need or head to Gorran Haven or Mevagissey.
