About Chun Castle and Chun Quoit
Chun Castle is an Iron Age hillfort on Chun Downs in west Penwith, built about 2,500 years ago. Its stone walls still stand around five feet high, and an ancient well lies inside the inner wall. About 250 metres to the west is Chun Quoit, a Neolithic chambered tomb dated to about 2400 BC with a domed capstone. Both have free access on open moorland, with no facilities.
