Cormorant Cruising runs boat trips from the quayside at Mousehole Harbour. The boat also leaves from Newlyn Harbour. Because the two harbours sit on the same stretch of coast, you can pick the departure point that suits your day.
Wildlife and coastal cruises are part of what Cormorant Cruising does. The boat heads out past the cliffs and the open water. Mackerel fishing trips are offered too, so you can spend time with a line over the side. Private charters can be arranged. Memorial trips are also available for families who want time at sea.
The harbour itself is a working one, with boats moored along the wall. Nearby, Mousehole Harbour Beach is a short walk from the pier. You can also walk to Kegen Teg, Rockpool, 35 Leading Lights and Driftwood. A trip out on the water fits neatly into a morning or afternoon here.
Visit the Cormorant Cruising website for sailing times, prices and booking details. Trips fill up in busy periods, so it is worth checking ahead. The crew will confirm the harbour to use on the day, because the tide decides whether the boat leaves from Mousehole or from Newlyn.

Harbour & coast
The harbour is small enough to understand on foot, but its quays, working surfaces and sea conditions deserve time and care.
The defining landmark
Mousehole Harbour Authority traces the village’s protective quay to the late fourteenth century. The present harbour combines much older masonry with major nineteenth century works, including the north quay designed by lighthouse engineer Sir James Douglass.
Fishing and pilchard curing sustained generations of families. The harbour still works today, while the village also carries the memory of the eight Solomon Browne lifeboat crew and eight people aboard the Union Star who died in the Penlee disaster on 19 December 1981.
Walk from the harbour
Circle the quays, then use the lanes behind the waterfront for changing views back across the harbour.
Follow a manageable out-and-back section west, turning back early enough for the conditions and your pace.
Use the coast side route east for views across Mount’s Bay and an easier link towards Newlyn.
One day itinerary
Use the classic plan as a guide, then switch it for rain, children or shorter distances.
