About Bant’s Carn Burial Chamber and Halangy Down Ancient Village

Bant’s Carn is a Bronze Age entrance grave on St Mary’s, an earthen mound held by a stone wall with a passage to a burial chamber roofed by massive capstones. Just below, Halangy Down shows the walls of nearly a dozen interconnected Iron Age stone houses. Both are cared for by English Heritage and free to visit at any reasonable time in daylight, about two miles from Hugh Town.
