About Helston Railway

Helston Railway is a volunteer run, standard gauge heritage railway on part of the old GWR branch line to Helston, which lost its passenger trains in 1962. The preservation society formed in 2002, and trains returned in 2011. Vintage steam or diesel trains and period carriages run about a mile and a quarter from Prospidnick to the rebuilt Truthall Halt. The base is at Trevarno Farm near Prospidnick, between Helston and Camborne, with free entry and parking. Hot food and drinks are available, dogs are welcome in certain areas, and the railway runs on set operating days and for special events. Satnav is not reliable, so follow the signs via Prospidnick and Trevarno Farm, looking for the entrance about 50 metres from the railway overbridge.
