Carn Euny Ancient Village stands near Sancreed in west Penwith. English Heritage owns the site and the Cornwall Heritage Trust manages it. Stone house foundations from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD survive, with walls up to a metre high in places. The fogou, a long stone walled underground passage, is the highlight. Fogous like this are found only in far west Cornwall. Entry is free at any reasonable time in daylight. A small car park is about 600 metres away, the track crosses farmland with at least two stiles and can be muddy, and there is a partly hidden drop at the fogou entrance. Dogs on leads are welcome.
