About Stithians Lake

Water sports and the activity centre

Stithians Lake is a 275 acre reservoir between Redruth and Falmouth. The South West Lakes Trust runs it, and people know it for windy conditions. If you want to get on the water, the activity centre runs instructor led sessions for sailing, windsurfing, winging and eFoiling. You can hire equipment or bring your own kit to launch. The centre is currently closed due to low water levels, so check ahead before you travel.

Walking, cycling and fishing

On land, a circular route of roughly five miles goes around the lake. Bird hides stand on the western shore, reached from the paths. A cycleway runs along the northern shore. Anglers can fly fish from the bank or by boat for stocked rainbow trout and wild brown trout.

Staying and practical visits

Next to the lake, the campsite has electric and non electric pitches. Showers and toilets are on site, and the site is open until 31st October. While the activity centre is shut, the cafe and play area may not be available, so plan your food and activities. Stithians is an inland farming village between Redruth, Helston and Falmouth. Parking at the lake is looked after by South West Lakes Trust, so check their information before you set off.
