Is Crantock Beach lifeguarded?

Yes, RNLI lifeguards patrol Crantock Beach at certain times of year and day. Check the RNLI website for current cover before you go. Swim only between the red and yellow flags when lifeguards are on duty. The beach can have strong currents and rips.

Where do you park for Crantock Beach?

The National Trust has a car park at the beach, but it has limited spaces and fills quickly. If it is full, use one of the private car parks nearby, where charges apply. The approach road is narrow with double yellow lines, so do not park on it or on the verges.

Is there a ferry from Newquay to Crantock?

Yes, a seasonal ferry runs across the Gannel from Fern Pit in Newquay to Crantock Beach. At low tide it can be safe to walk across instead. If the tide is high and no ferry is running, the way round inland via Trevemper adds about three miles. Do not try to wade or swim across the Gannel.

What pubs are there in Crantock?

Crantock has two pubs close to the church on Langurroc Road. The Old Albion is a partly thatched pub with a reputation for smuggling tales. The Cornishman is a large village local with an outdoor area that is busy in summer.

Is there a holiday park at Crantock?

Yes, Crantock Beach Holiday Park is run by Parkdean Resorts. It has caravan holiday homes and lodges and sits about a five minute walk from Crantock Beach. Facilities include a pool, a pub with a terrace and a shop.

How do you get to Crantock by bus?

Buses, run by Go Cornwall Bus, links Newquay and Truro via Crantock. It stops in the centre of the village, which is about a 10 minute walk from the beach. Check the current timetable before you travel.
