Small tidal sand and shingle beaches on Fowey waterfront, reached from Whitehouse Quay with views across the estuary to Polruan.
Fowey waterfront
Whitehouse Beach is a group of small tidal beaches on the Fowey waterfront, reached at or near Whitehouse Quay. At lower water, patches of sand and shingle give a close view across the estuary toward Polruan.
This is a waterfront pause rather than a surf beach. The amount of exposed sand changes with the tide, so check the time and leave space for the water to return.
A simple visit works well with time in Fowey: walk the waterfront, spend a little time by the estuary, then continue into town for practical facilities and food.
Around the waterfront
Use Whitehouse Beach as part of a waterside walk, then continue through Fowey or compare other Cornish beaches and walks.

Tide changes both the available sand and the feel of the access. This is estuary water, so treat currents and local signs seriously.
Arriving at Whitehouse Quay
Whitehouse Quay on the Fowey side is the access point. Use Fowey parking as the practical default, then walk through town to the waterfront. Do not expect parking at the beach itself.
Ferry arrival: visitors arriving by the Bodinnick Ferry can walk through Fowey to Whitehouse Beach. Allow about 1 km from the ferry parking area and follow the waterfront or town streets.
Estuary currents can be strong, sand reduces or disappears at high water, and lifeguard cover should not be assumed. Check the tide, current signs and local safety notices on the day.
Plan a waterside day
Use the quay as part of a level waterfront walk, then head into Fowey for facilities and a wider choice of stops.

Start with the tide and a practical parking plan, then keep the visit flexible around the waterfront and town.
