Krowji is Cornwall's largest creative hub, occupying the former Redruth Grammar School buildings and newer studio blocks at West Park on the western edge of Redruth. The studios are rented by painters, ceramicists, printmakers, jewellers, designers, musicians and small creative businesses, so on a normal weekday it is a working site rather than a shopping centre. Visitors are welcome at the Melting Pot Cafe, and the public gets inside the studios themselves at Krowji's Open Studios weekends, including the Christmas Open Studios at the end of November when makers sell direct from their benches, and at the Autumn Showcase. Workshops and short courses run through the year, and meeting rooms can be hired.
