About Brown Willy

Brown Willy rises to 420 metres on Bodmin Moor near Bolventor, the highest point in Cornwall. Its Cornish name, Bronn Wennili, is usually translated as hill of swallows. Two cairns and an Ordnance Survey trig point stand on the summit ridge, and the hill is open access land. Most walkers climb it from the Roughtor car park near Camelford, often adding Roughtor on a loop of around 8km. The ground is rough and boggy in places, so wear boots and carry water and a map.
