About Copper Trail

The Copper Trail is a 60 mile circular walking route that runs all the way around Bodmin Moor. It starts and finishes at Minions, on the eastern edge of the moor among old copper mining remains, and links moorland villages, river valleys, woods and open moor. Along the way it passes Crow's Nest, Tremar Coombe, Common Moor and Draynes Bridge near Golitha Falls, then St Neot, Colliford Lake and Old Cardinham Castle, before heading north through Blisland, St Breward and Camelford, past Crowdy Reservoir and Davidstow Woods, and back south via Five Lanes, Trebartha, North Hill and Henwood. Most walkers take four to six days, around 24 to 30 hours of walking, and many tackle it in shorter sections between villages. Parts of the route cross remote moorland where paths can be wet and navigation needs care, so carry a map and suitable kit. It suits experienced walkers wanting a multi day route away from the coast.
