About Sterts Theatre

Sterts Theatre and Arts Centre is a community arts venue at Upton Cross on the edge of Bodmin Moor, north of Liskeard, with its entrance on the B3254 Launceston to Liskeard road. It began as an outdoor theatre inspired by ancient Greek amphitheatres, and its main Barn Theatre, which seats around 500, is now covered by a canvas canopy, so performances go ahead whatever the weather. There is also a 70 seat indoor studio, a gallery and a café bar on the four acre site. Alongside performances it runs workshops, training and volunteer projects, and it describes itself as the only venue of its kind in south east Cornwall. The Barn Theatre season runs from March to October, while the studio is used all year. Check the website for upcoming events and booking. There is ample free parking, and facilities include a bar, toilets, baby changing and a Changing Places toilet. It is a good way to combine an evening out with a day exploring the moor, Minions and the Cheesewring nearby.
