About Quiksilver Surf School Newquay

Quiksilver Surf School Newquay is a purpose built surf school on Esplanade Road at Pentire, right above the quieter southern end of Fistral Beach. It is an accredited Surfing England Centre of Excellence, and it runs lessons every day for complete beginners through to intermediate surfers.

What to expect

You meet your instructor at the school’s base next to The Esplanade Hotel, overlooking South Fistral. Lessons last two hours and include a Quiksilver or Roxy full length wetsuit, a board to suit your level, a safety briefing and beach theory before you head into the water. Instructors are ISA and Surf England qualified, lifeguard qualified and DBS checked. There are indoor hot showers, changing rooms and secure lockers.

Lessons and activities

Choose from beginner, improver and intermediate group lessons, children’s lessons, private and private family lessons, surf weekends and Roxy women’s surf days and weekends. The school also runs bodyboarding, stand up paddleboarding and coasteering, and hires out surf kit.

Ages and essentials

Everyone taking part must be able to swim. The minimum age is 7 for group lessons and 4 for private lessons, and under 10s need a parent with them. An online disclaimer is required before your lesson.
