About Sharp’s Brewery

Sharp’s Brewery stands in Pityme Industrial Estate near Rock, and it has now been brewing for 30 years. The range covers beers and ciders, and the brewery has claimed over 150 brewing awards, so there is plenty to explore if you already enjoy a pint.

At the shop

Visitors can call in at the shop and tasting room, where fresh cask beer is sold to take away in mini casks, alongside beer boxes and flights of cask ale, lager, craft beer, cider and alcohol free options. Because fresh cask beer should be opened within two days of receipt and consumed within three days of opening, it suits a stay nearby where you can share it with friends.

Tutored tastings

The brewery runs tutored beer tastings in its Secret Bar, led by a host with input from the in house beer sommeliers. Sessions cover the brewing process and the company history, with a tasting of a range of beers, and they run on Thursdays and Fridays at 1pm and 3pm. They are limited to eight people, are for over 18s only and must be booked and paid for in advance at £20 per person. The shop is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, and closed at weekends.

A day nearby

The brewery sits in Pityme, in the Daymer Bay area between Wadebridge, Rock and Polzeath, and the guide notes that the shore changes with the tide. If you are driving from Wadebridge towards Rock or Polzeath, local buses link the three, and parking is limited in the lanes, so the Polzeath Beach long stay car park at PL27 6SS is an option.
