About Halliggye Fogou
Halliggye Fogou sits on the Trelowarren Estate near Helston. It is the largest and best preserved of Cornwall’s Iron Age fogous, thought to date from the 5th or 4th century BC. Entry is free and you can explore about 30 metres of passage, but bring a torch, as it is completely dark, with steep steps, low ceilings and uneven floors. The interior is open May to September only, to protect roosting bats.
