The Galleon

The Galleon Inn is a riverside pub with rooms on Fore Street in the centre of Fowey, one of very few pubs in the town with its own frontage on the water. A sun terrace looks straight across the estuary to Polruan and Pont Creek, with yachts, ferries and the occasional china clay ship passing in front of the tables. The long traditional bar has a pool table and serves local and national drinks including Harbour Brewing Company beers, and the kitchen produces freshly prepared pub food and pizzas using local ingredients where possible, with lunch and evening service. Friday night live entertainment runs through the season until mid October, and the pub is described by regulars as dog friendly. Upstairs are four star bed and breakfast rooms with en suite bathrooms, three with river views, including super king and family rooms with children's beds or sofa beds, and breakfast is served to guests. Fowey's streets are narrow and parking in the centre is very limited, so visitors usually leave the car in the main car parks above the town and walk down. It suits anyone wanting a relaxed waterside drink or meal in the thick of Fowey, and sailors coming ashore from the moorings.
