The North Street Kitchen

North Street Kitchen is a small seafood restaurant in a converted boathouse at 55 North Street in Fowey, looking out over the creek. Set up by the Friskney-Bryer family, it is an informal place with an open kitchen, a long communal table in the main room, counter seats and some outdoor tables, and dogs are allowed throughout. The menu is written on a blackboard and changes with what the local boats land, prepared simply: Fowey oysters, brown crab rarebit, cured pollack, confit sea bass and a weekly fish soup have all featured, with one or two non-fish dishes such as lamb bolognese or nettle gnudi for those who want them. The Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand in its 2026 UK edition for good value cooking, and the Good Food Guide rates it very good. Opening is limited: at the time of writing lunch is served Thursday to Saturday and dinner on Friday and Saturday only, with Sunday to Wednesday closed, and queues are common in the busy months, so book through the website or by phone if you want dinner. It suits visitors who care more about the fish than about tablecloths, and it is a few minutes on foot from Town Quay and the Bodinnick ferry at Caffa Mill.
