About Heron Tennis Centre

Heron Tennis Centre is the tennis and padel club in Newquay's Trenance Leisure Park, next to the boating lake, Newquay Zoo and the leisure centre, and its courts and facilities are open to non members as well as members. There are nine full size tennis courts, five hard, two artificial clay and two indoor, plus two mini courts for children, a pickleball court and two padel courts that are due to be covered in 2026, so there is somewhere to play whatever the weather. Courts are booked online, and a year round coaching programme runs from parent and toddler sessions and adult beginner groups to super senior classes and squads for nationally ranked juniors, with equipment hire available. The Set Cafe Lounge on site serves food and can cater for events, and the Heron Room is hired out for classes, meetings, parties and table tennis. Membership gives free or discounted court hire, coaching and earlier booking, but holidaymakers can simply book and pay for a court. An hour on court fits easily between the zoo and the boating lake, and the free play parks and miniature railway are a short walk away. It suits visiting families who want an active break from the beach and regular players looking for a game on holiday.
