About The Great Western Cafe

The Great Western Surf Cafe is the cafe on the slope down to Great Western Beach, off Cliff Road in Newquay, part of a family run beach complex with views across Newquay Bay. The menu is deliberately short and caters for vegan and vegetarian diners, gluten free diets, lighter bites and children, so most of a mixed group can find something. Down on the sand itself the Surf Shack beach bar serves cold beer, cocktails, spirits, slushies including boozy versions, soft drinks, coffee, ice cream and snacks, so you can eat up at the cafe and then drink by the water. The cafe is open seven days a week. The same complex runs surf equipment hire and NQY Surf School lessons, an ice cream kiosk and a beach webcam, and RNLI lifeguards cover the beach from May to September. The beach is sheltered and promoted as dog friendly. It suits surfers, families spending the day on the sand and anyone wanting a casual bite with a sea view.
