About Padstow Museum

Padstow Museum is a small, volunteer run museum covering the maritime, cultural and social history of Padstow and the surrounding area. Displays explore the town's long seafaring and fishing past, its shipbuilding days and the people who shaped the community, with local history collections, hands on interactives and audio recordings of shipwreck stories. It is based at Station House on Station Road, so it is easy to fit into a day exploring the town and harbour. The museum describes itself as family friendly and disability friendly, and volunteers are on hand to help and answer questions. It opens Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 4pm between February and mid December, but as opening depends on volunteer availability, it is worth checking before making a special trip. Entry is free, with donations welcome to support the museum's work. Allow around half an hour to an hour for a visit. It is a good choice when the weather turns, and a useful introduction to the town's history before a walk around the harbour.
